Friday & its healing elements

Introduction and important notes to
‘Changing Your Destiny Today and Daily’

Each day of the week makes its unique contribution to the energy vibrations of the universe. The color, the sounds and characteristics of the day’s energies noticeably affect all living things and subtly exert their influence on inert matter as well. From ancient times the 7 days of the week have been named after the influence of celestial bodies and planets that have been thought to influence the overall energies of that particular day and night.

By understanding the unique energy signature that fills the universe each new day, we can work in harmony with those energies. As we do that, we can achieve greater and more consistent levels of achievements.

Think of the day’s energies as a current or tide in the ocean of life. If we move with the tide and ride the various currents and cross currents expertly we can travel greater distances with less effort. If we float along, or oppose and fight the tides and currents of the ocean, we can be pummeled badly, dragged underwater or even be smashed against rocks, or then—we may run aground on sand-banks of life that leave us stranded. If we just float along, then we are being pushed around being driven by those energies in ignorance how we can help ourselves at the very basic fundamental level of everyday life.

Keeping these mental pictures, and accessing knowledge about the influence of the days of the week, we can very usefully make our every day fruitful to progress the aims of our lives.

The start of each day is considered as sunrise and it ends at the next sunrise. The modern convenience of calculating days by a clock from midnight to midnight is not representative of the day’s energy signature.

Using a local area time-zone standard for any place, the following time references may be kept in mind.

At around 4 in the morning or somewhat more precisely, about 45 minutes before local sunrise time, the energies of the new day begin come into great strength. 11 or 12 hours later, between 3 pm and 4:30 p.m. in the afternoon, the energies of the following day begin to appear very gradually, and the energies of the current day slowly begin to decline.

The exception to this last observation is Saturday.

The stabilizing energies of Saturn begin to moderate and decline significantly only after sunset on Saturday. The Sunday energies start gathering strength between 7 and 8 pm on Saturday evening and become very powerfully manifest by 4 am, which, by this consideration, but which, by international standard time calculation would be Sunday after midnight.

Other weekday energies are not as powerful at 4 am as compared to Sunday 4 am. Thus, as the Sunday energies continue to increase even more in strength for the rest of the day, the overall Sunday energy signature is the most powerful one of all the days of the week. We can properly consider Sunday as being the king of the weekdays.

Day 6. Friday and the healing elements

The word Friday of modern usage is named after ‘Frigga’, the wife of the Norse God Odin after whom the day Wednesday is named. Other references ascribe the origin of the name to ‘Freya’, another Norse goddess, the word meaning ‘lady’—that has resonance with the Vedic goddess of fortune ‘Lakshmi-devi’.

The nature of Friday energies

The Vedic name for Friday is Shukravaar, after the spiritual teacher Shukracharya, who is the guru of those who have no true understanding of the Divine spiritual nature, and who are therefore designated as demons. ‘Shukra’ also refers to the planet Venus that has sway over the day, and ‘shukra’ also means semen, and stands for sensual pleasure and sensual beauty.

In the Vedic tradition, simultaneous with the ‘shukra’ understanding of Friday, the predominantly turquoise green energies of the day, are noted as the special energies of Sri Lakshmi Devi. She is the all-opulent wife of Lord Vishnu, who is the expansion of the Supreme Divine who generates and maintains the universe. Divine opulence and wealth are indicated by the energies of the day by the grace of Lakshmi-devi.

So here we have two opposite options as to how the Venusian qualities and opportunities may be utilized to progress one spiritually or otherwise.

Of course, in common parlance, a modern cultural context of Friday is summed up as TGIF— ‘Thank God it’s Friday!’— meaning in effect, its party-time and let’s party over the weekend!

This is quite opposite of the ancient cultural understanding that Friday evening is the beginning of the holy Shabbath or Sabbath, the day of rest and contemplation on spiritual and religious matters. Ancient traditions across the world recognize the energy flows of the day and seek to align themselves harmoniously with them for obtaining the maximum benefit from these naturally occurring phenomena. It is a time for abstaining from intoxication, meat-eating and other activities that promote the qualities of passion and ignorance.

Friday energy and healing elements methods

Accessing special divine and spiritual opulence benefits on Fridays can be done by lighting scented candles and oil lamps, maintaining attentive cleanliness of body and the home, and using pleasing perfumes. Overdoing perfumes and deodorants to cover over the lack of hygiene or cleanliness is quite counter-productive to these goals, and it may give one the false belief that one is on the right track here!

Friday energies are turquoise greenish-blue, as well as pastel blue, and pink.
Creating the right environment attracts the Friday energies of beauty and opulence. The type of energies that appear depends upon what one does during this time—whether one is inclined towards the Shukra sensual activities or the Lakshmi spiritual activities.

Depending upon how one uses this opportunity one will create one’s destiny accordingly. In the spiritual tradition, sensual enjoyment in a regulated way is progressive while unregulated sense enjoyment takes one to darker downward pathways of existence. There is always the freedom to choose and to do, and we often choose without understanding that there will be future consequences for our actions—often because we do not immediately experience those consequences.

At the end of it, even though it may be far in the future, there are specific consequence we must face based on the choices we make. The past is the foundation for the present just as the present becomes the foundation for the future.

Friday energies can help us prepare a good foundation for all present moments and future-present moments yet to come.
