“Supportive encouragement as well as hostile criticism of ourselves and others ripple through our lives leaving behind growing bank balances of those energies.
It is up to you to decide which of the two you would like to generate or accept, and so have multiply in your life–negative criticism or positive encouragement.”—Nalin Nirula
The 1st law of karma is more complex than the rather simplistic statement for the law of attraction as generally understood. We can understand how this first law works by our personal experience.
Consider: when you are feeling unhappy about something and start to meditate on the reasons or the history connected with that, do you feel better or worse?
It would be pretty safe to say that your experience would be that you would feel worse the more you go over the events in your mind. Next, if you have done a lot of thinking about this, you might come across people—friends even, who will confirm the ‘badness’ of your experience and who would perhaps sympathize with you.
On getting ‘sympathy’, or in other words—’poor you!’ energies from others, is it your experience that you feel even sadder and more unhappy? Chances are that you would. In which case, you are moving in tune with ‘like attracts like’.
So here we have a condition of unhappiness and the more we think about it, the worse we feel. Soon we get people known and also unknown—coming from somewhere, thin air even!, confirming our negative experience, and adding to it. The result is, we feel even worse.
So here we have a condition of unhappiness, and the more we think about it, the worse we feel. Soon we get people known and also unknown—coming from somewhere, thin air even!, confirming our negative experience, and adding to it. The result is, we feel even worse.
This is a demonstration of how we attract energies to ourselves and multiply their effect through the principle of like attract like, which is the first law of karma and energy work.
The first law of karma has been somewhat misunderstood under the name of ‘the law of attraction’. The proponents of the law of attraction imply that nature or life-events can be controlled essentially just by mental thinking and willing.
The proposal put forward in this law of attraction is a four step procedure:
This concept was widely popularized by the book and video The Secret (2006).
If everything was deliverable to us just by positive thinking, then we would all be happy, successful, satisfied and have most of our wishes fulfilled. Sadly this is not so.
Clearly this is a false proposition failing at many levels, including observation, personal experience and practical results. Although compellingly stated, the case for The Secret is a misstated and over-stated understanding of psychologist Emile Coue’s auto-suggestion methods reprised by John Lennon in his 1980 song ‘Beautiful Boy’. (See below)
Working with spiritual karmic healing methods of Reiki and the KQ Force delivers destiny-changing results, and has been verified by thousands of practitioners of these karmic healing modalities. These results come from the complete First Law of Karma in demonstrable action, and not its partial representation by the Law of Attraction which only multiplies a particular mindset. This does not necessarily lead to any results unless one has, or one creates, the karmic bank balance to get such results. Such desirable results are reliably obtainable through Reiki and the KQ Force.

John Lennon used these lines in his lyrics for his 1980 song ‘Beautiful Boy’–a song for his and Yoko Ono’s son Sean. (Click on the image or click here to go to the song.)
This is actually the positive self-help mantra of Dr. Emile Coue, French pharmacist and psychologist who published his famous auto-suggestion healing book in 1920 with this key mantra.
Dr. Coue’s conscious auto-suggestion mantra that created sensational healings for those times is:
“Every day in every way I am getting better and better.”
(Tous les jours à tous points de vue je vais de mieux en mieux).

It was published in 1923 by the Columbia Gramophone Company,USA. It remains an authentic and interesting piece of history.
The “trick”
Dr. Coue was very clear in stating that the ‘trick’ was to help the patient to overcome internal blocks and ‘negative willpower’ that prevented wellness. He achieved this by introducing a positive affirmation and having the patient repeat this sufficiently to ‘re-program’ his internal thinking.
This auto-suggestion helps the individual to change his existing inner state and this enables him to exercise new options which previously he was not able to consider as being doable or practicable.
Coue’s teachings and methods strongly influenced writers and thinkers such as Napoleon Hill (Think and Get Rich) and W. Clement Stone. In The Secret, Stone’s teachings are credited for the methods presented there as the ‘law of attraction’.
You can also substitute additional wellness affirmations such as for ‘health’, or ‘abundance’, and repeat these mantras loudly a number of times a day. It is very helpful to stand in front of the mirror, smile (even artificially), and repeat the Coue method mantras.
This is an excellent practical introduction to the workings of the first law of karma–like attracts like, leading the way for part 2 of the first law–
Keeping in mind the First Law, this means that individual Karma Quotient attracts the karmic results needed to balance, nullify or exhaust individual karma quotient.
In practice we find the Coue mantras work remarkably well to jump-start the process of wellness.
It’s a great and happy way to start the day—and end it too—remember the first law of karma—Like attracts like!
